The treasury is located in the Uppsala cathedral and houses lots of garments and jewelry. you pay for the ticket, get a guidebook and a flashlight, and take the lift up.

garments that the archbishop wore throughout the ages in this church, its really alot of cloth and i suspect very heavy as well. with so much weight, either the priests are very strong, or very short.

chalice guilded with gems

the different saints depicted on this cloth

the only surviving gala dress from the middle ages, circa 1409. its for some queen.

an olden day chest, this one has 8 locks, made in germany. and whats inside?

the clothes of her husband and 2 sons, who were killed by king Erik, who said they commited treason against him. Killed in Uppsala castle, their bodies were carried away and the lady quickly took off their clothes adn put them in this chest for her keeping. which i felt was kinda funny to do. some parts of the clothes are still visibly blood stained.

alot of the priests garments are intricately woven with silver and gold threads. and many of them are gifts from the people attending the church, either they are very good craftspeople or they are immensely free. labour of love for the church.

the nobel medal awarded to an archbishop overseeing this church. i dont know why he was awarded it. just happy to see a real medilion on display.

the sword of King Gustaf Vasa, found burried with him. the tomb is in the church and i guess they must have dug it out adn took away his sword.
its silver and has a picture of adam and eve on it.

in the same grave, they also burried his consort, and she was wearing a simple crown of beaded pearls.

Gustaf Vasa was wearing this in his grave.

and holding on to one of these. there are a few here because a few kings were burried in the church.

the one on the right is interesting because its made of agate and ebony, and is for a queen.

ancient day buttons. at first i thought it was fishing line sinkers.

i like this one very much, the light is just perfect and the ruggedness of the crafting a true portrayal of the cross

crowns of othe rkings burried in the chruch

gemstones on the crown, some are missing

a set of hourglass from teh church alter. i wonder why they needed hourglasses? maybe the preacher was too boring and they needed somthing to tell him'your time is up' hahaha

olden day offering buckets. strange

was somewhere outside the uppsala church and found runestones around. old and has history associated to it. the pictures should be self explanatory.

the inscriptions were quite deep, here, my finger is there to give some perspective how deep the carvings are. maybe 2-3mm deep. and i really wonder if the dye is original or just splattered on recently.

pastor Ulf Ekman's home church in Uppsala. On a bright Sunday morning.

the bookshop is bustling with people, as its the annual Swedish thing with book sales in March.

spotted the CHC Emerge 2007 video of some songs going at only 10 SEK, which is about 2SGD. dirt lor.

the cool cross motif on the wall. Can you grasp it? A whole new meaning to hold on to the cross.

the main sanctuary. theres the ground level and an upper deck all around.

the church complex is made up of the church buildign for services, the school on the left and in the background, a convention center.

what you can see and picture in your mind, you can have. Bible school, hoho, here I come.
