She is Gone
(Read out at the British Queen Mother's Funeral)
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Since shifting into this new place, I did not have internet in my room for almost a month. So my blogging and online presence went down, but today at last my modem came after 2 long weeks of waiting and complaining to the company. So I'm back!
Got myself a 24Mbs package for 299SEK a month. It seems fast but when I'm surfing, its actually feels quite slow, and BT is crawling at best at times. Looks like the company is throttling alot of the traffic. Oh well, got to remind myself this place is not as developed as Singapore, ironically.
I just realized that there were two types of laundry rooms, the small one that I have been using and a bigger sized one, which I booked this week.
Two washers, a dryer, a drying cupboard, a roller machine and an ironing horse. Too bad no iron.
The cupboard looks cool, will try it one day.
This one i really cannot understand, its just two wooden rolls that press whatever your roll in between two canvas sheets. Like so ancient, can?
I tried to 'iron' a shirt using this and gave up after rolling it around and around for 5 minutes. Looks like I'm going to buy an iron.
Tried out the new laundry room today.
First got to use your key dongle to book the room with this machien on the wall
Book one of the 5 rooms thats available. So far, I hardly see anyone using them
Electrolux 12kg machines. One dryer, one washer. No need to add your own detergent or softener. Themachine adds it for you. Theres cold, warm, hot wash, delicates, synthetics, wool, and even a hand wash feature. hmmm, a machine-hand-wash?
mop and pail for you to clean your apartment while waiting for clothes to be done.
the panel on the machine to select detergent- whites or colour clothes, and the soiled level of the clothes- heavy, normal or light. Then if you want softener in your final rinse.
Next week will try out the other rooms which have ironing 'tray' things as well as an airing cupboard.
So I had to shift out of my tiny 9 sq meter room because they let you stay there only one year. Got myself a 23sq meter studio now, just 4 minutes walk from the lab, and quite far from the city center.
After I got the keys, its a hike to Ikea.
This is the place bare

Work table
work chair
sofa bed
dining set
Their space saving packing is really quite incredible.
finish!
Took 3.5 hours of labour to get everything done.
Curtain rails and cool material for curtains.
SAMsung microwave, 850W of pure energy.
So I had the problem of not finding exact size ready made curtains for my windows. Bought cloth and decided to just hang them up. Scratched head for an hour and decided to use little envelope clips
It works. The right window slightly bigger so needed to join two pices of cloth together. And the extra I just put it on the sofa bed.
Kitchen and half eaten breakfast
Work area almost fully operational except for internet which should come next week.
The whole place, from a corner
From the doorway. To the right is the bath
Blue themed bath, as opposed to the red themed kitchen
Yes guys, I have proposed to my lovely girlfriend, and fortunately she said Yes. So, this is how it happened:
Was in Rome holidaying with her, and I first found a park, heart shaped and with a lake right in the middle of it. Center of my heart heh?
The view from teh park was quite good, setting the mood, but lots of people walking around, so had to find somewhere quieter.
Found the lake and besides it there was a dilapidated looking tree stump. Made her sit on it with the pretense that I wanted to take a pic of her with the lake in the background. Actually I did take the picture in the end, so it isnt a lie.
When she was grumpily sitting on the stump, I went on my knees, said some stuff, and fumbled my pockets for the ring. The glitter was too much for her and she said yes. So I put it out of my pocket onto her finger. Watch it glitter in the sun! Bling bling!
So she's officially mine, hands off you guys!
one of my labmate plays the double bass and has a small band and they were invited to play at a local pub this week. So some guys from teh lab decided to go down to support him. They are really talented musicians and the music quality was good. I also like their arrangements for most of the pieces. real good soul food.

my corridormate, Vivi 'the french girl' left sweden after 6 months here on attachment. She's actually training in France to get her diploma in engineering but worked in Stockholm in a biological lab. So it was a totally new experience for her.
so lots of people came, corridor mates, hostel mates from other floors, French friends, and work friends.
some girls got together to give her a Söder beanie. its a private joke.
