Having a little free time, i scooted over to spy the new block opposite the lab which will be my soon to be dwelling, in 6 weeks time. Its this new block called Flemingsberg (Flemings-by-eh) Centrum. Its a project to build 169 student hostels and a small shopping mall next to it. So there are cafes, a huge supermart, and some other small shops.

I timed myself and it took a grand total of 3:45 to get from my lab door to the building.

my room to be, its facing eastwards, so will get the morning sun.

The western face

Still under construction, but you can see the adjourning small mall. At least food will not be a worry. The other blocks you see are also student hostels. All in bright colours, supposedly portrying a vibrant lifestyle.

Food is important, you are what you eat, and people live to eat. So last weekend, went out with some Singaporeans to 'yum char' and pick some dim sum. A real treat in the land of Ang Mohs.
The quality is not bad I must say, then again, being so far from home, anything goes.

images taken at 1030 pm. beautiful sky, an indication of a hot day tomorrow. Today was 28C. Too hot. Suddenly winter doesnt sound that bad. If it gets cold, can always layer up, but if it gets hot, you can skip the jackets but how do you remove your skin?

Second last placing boat

The captain super on dont know for what.

But the reporters rushed to him. Maybe some famous captain. This is one of the Swedish teams by the way, I think SWedes are in 5 of the 8 boats.

The Puma boat, the best looking one. Really looks like a shoe.

The crazily large crowd.

Masts

More rowing

The navy was doing some recruiting. This is some special boat that doesnt get detected by radar

Outside, there's other stuff to do, like this rowing thing that simulates what its like to raise the main sail. Not easy, I just stood and laughed at those trying.

Cant afford the real thing? Buy a pool and a few fans. You'll be surprised that the boats are remote controlled for the sails, and not motorized propulsion.

One day, I'll own the real thing!

The volvo showroom. They built this up just for the event.

Singapore so far away?

The Puma area, drinks, and clothes shop, super ex.

hydrofoil.

A real version of the boats they use for the race. Too bad I went late, didnt get to go for the guided tour.

After awhile, the boats came in to dock after a day out racing.

This is the last placed boat, when they come in, the last will come in first.

By this time, all the sails are down. No more fun. Should have went to another island to spy the boats out in full sail.
