Yet another museum, this time the Seaman's museum.

Outside the museum, a memorial for seamen who lost their lives duirng WWII. Perched on top of the tower is the lady looking out towards the sea, always hoping and looking to see if the men would return.

a big bell, but I dont know its significance.

entry

Theres an aquarium room at the ground floor, some displays are quite nice, others are totally dead.

On the first and second floor are relics from old ships and scale models displaying what ships used to look like.

you can spend hours staring at the intricate craftsmanship of the models.

life size display of what a shipbuilding yard would look like. Göteborg used to be a thriving ship building town. Somehow that isnt the case today.

The piston from a freighter's engine. Compared to my size 11 shoe.

tuna de-boner. I really tried to make out how it operates but to no avail

one section showed scale model displays of modern fishing techniques, I must say they look quite cruel to the fish.

net winch, compared yet again to my size 11 shoe.

somewhat educational, but somewhat boring as i couldnt understand half the displays which were only in swedish and not translated, there wasnt even an english guide to borrow at the counter. I would say visit this only if you have time to spare, or you love ships.
