took a 3 hour joyride on a boat thats 100 years old from Stockholm to Vaxholm, an island on the outskirts.
there was a running english commentary on the way of the various sights we met along the way, a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon.

cloak room, and the boat cafe at the back, upstairs is a buffet table, but its a seperate charge, so I didnt go for it, quite ex.

trying to do a titanic, but i didnt want to ship to sink, so abandoned the idea.

peeping porthole

this water spout was created by a swedish designer for the UN office but they said it was too christian because it depicts an angel pouring down blessings on everybody. so it ended up here.

the back of the boat, diesel smelling

hundreds of islands around

not bad if can own one island and establish your own country there.

beautiful waterfront cottages, but not a good insurance against global warming,.

the vaxholm waterfront view.

the vaxholm castle, only open in summer

boat taxis

floating petrol stations, if leak sure got problem because the petrol floats and can get burned easily, spreading the flames quickly.

ferry for busses, cars and people to nearby islands.

bird resting on ice floating around

on the way back there was a snowstorm, its good to be insde when that happens.

the passageway looking to the front of the boat.

goodbye SS Stockholm
