biggest cathedral in scandinavia, the uppsala cathedral.
carl linnaeus was burried here, in the church, thats where the term 'over my dead body' came from. without him, we wouldnt have scientific genus and species names
the chruch is full of little nooks and corners for various famous people, and each has chapel dedicated to that person. probably something like patron saints in catholic churches.
lots of tapestry telling stories that im not familiar with.
this sight really intrigued me. the two with weapons are full figure, but the peaceful one with a book like thing, doesn thave his head. Blessed are the nerds who dont know how to use a sword for they shall not bother with heads anymore.
the arches are very majestic
tomb with decorated wall, marble carvings of the person asleep
the alter area
looking at teh entrance of the chruch from the alter
stained glass. there is one big one at each corner of the chruch corresponding to N, S, E and W.
a statue of Mary awaiting the second comming.
teh tomb of Gustaf Vasa, Sweden's first king. and his consort.
